Will 2008 be the year of Connecting Users in the Enterprise?

posted Monday, 14 January 2008

Personally I think 2008 will be a great year and this is why...

I predict new mobile devices, with more memory, better battery life and displays and empowering Operating System features. Watch out for updates to Microsoft's Windows Mobile OS, the Apple iPhone and Google's Android platform.

New innovative formats from hardware manufacturers, for example HTC, will spur on IT to take current systems on the road. In fact its my opinion that these sort of phone devices will out sell corporate PC's on a scale of at least 4:1.

Quality high speed networks will become the norm and users will start taking that for granted. Road warriors will worry less about connectivity and speed issues.

With these previous factors, services will become connected to the mobile world and applications may even become more location based aware. In turn this will speed up business processes and end customers will reap the rewards as well as business. Innovation driving innovation!
